Wow! It's hard to believe that 2014 is all but in the books. I want to say thanks to everyone who joined us in our disciple-making mission through your prayers, participation, and financial support. Here at PTG we are more committed than ever to take the whole gospel to the whole world. 2014 has been a time of transition and I wanted to give you an update.
The Gospel Disciple Journey
In 2010 I made a radical step of obedience resigning from my paid staff position to rediscover what it's like to follow Jesus in obedience. It's been an amazing journey! Since that day in January I've been working on a book capturing my story and learnings from that journey. I am so grateful for those who have been part of this project and your constant encouragement for me to complete it. To be honest, I finally sense that it's time to complete it. Currently, I'm making some final edits before I hand it over to a real editor. I'm looking so forward to sharing it with you in early 2015.
In November of 2013 I had the opportunity to enter into a strategic partnership with Auxano. Auxano is the category leader in vision clarity. I became one of their Lead Navigators, working closely with Will Mancini, Todd McMichen, Mac Lake and several others. It's been an amazing year of new relationships and incredible learning. I am very grateful for Will and the entire team. I look forward to continuing to serve as one of their Lead Navigators in 2015. You can learn more about what we do at Auxano here http://www.auxano.com.
Future of PTG
With this new partnership I have spent much of the year praying through what's next for PTG. I've considered every option, including transitioning completely out of PTG. At the end of the day I am convinced that God wants us to continue to build PTG as a platform for equipping and encouraging ordinary disciples like you and me to plant the extraordinary gospel where we live, work, and play. This means we will continue to write, speak, train, equip global pastors, and develop our Gospel Disciple resources for the local church.
Our Mission - This is what we do!
We help ordinary disciples plant the extraordinary gospel where they live, work, and play.
Our Values - This is what we care about! Ultimately this is what drives our mission.
Gospel Life – Living one's life as a disciple transformed by the gospel of renewal, redemption, and restoration.
Gospel Community – Living our lives in life-on-life relationships with other disciples.
Gospel Mission -Giving our lives and resources to causes that bring gospel life to others.
Our Strategy: This is how we do it!
We encourage others by telling the story of those who plant the gospel.
We equip churches and individuals locally and globally to plant the gospel by providing resources and
We engage others who plant the gospel through intentional partnerships.
One of the things we are doing in 2015 is investing financial resources directly into individuals and ministries that are committed to planting the gospel where they live, work, and play.
KC and Gail Crino - The Crino's are working as missionaries in the Chicagoland area through www.iteams.us. International Teams is a global non-profit organization fueling a movement to change the future of communities worldwide through integrated community transformation. Part of the Crino's responsibility is to raise their own support to make this happen. Recently the Crino's left their fully funded missionary position in Mexico to return to their native city to plant the gospel.
Tim and Lynn Lydia - The Lydia's felt the call to plant the gospel after a mission trip. Leaving a key position at BMW, Tim and Lynn moved to Manchester, CT, to plant their lives and the gospel in a community about an hour north of Boston. Please take a moment to visit http://www.lifesongmanchester.com and learn more about this ministry.
Elam - The mission of Elam is to strengthen and expand the church in the Iran region and beyond. Our relationship focuses on traveling to the region and encouraging and equipping young people who are risking all to plant the gospel in some of the most dangerous places on the earth. http://www.elam.com
Compassion - One of the easiest ways to plant the gospel globally is to partner with organizations like www.compassion.com. In 2010 I took my first trip with Compassion and was overwhelmed by the work they were doing in Uganda. During that trip God gave me a vision and a plan for sponsoring 2000 children. One year later I returned with a group of 19 pastors and over the next two years, collectively, their churches sponsored over 2000 children. As part of PTG we will continue to look for opportunities to support the work of Compassion by connecting churches and individual with this unique opportunity to plant the gospel in one child's life and family at a time.
Experience Mission International - We partner with Experience Missions International to take the whole Gospel to the whole world by discipling indigenous pastors to disciple their churches. Together we have worked to take our resources to Haiti and Kenya where we have trained over 500 pastors. http://experiencemissionsintl.org
Join the Mission…plant the gospel!
